What is the difference between 2-wire and 3-wire fieldwire control for a C445 Motor Management Relay?

When using 2-wire control (default) with a C445, power must be maintained on Input 1 for Direct mode (FVNR) for example. This is typically done with a momentary Start pushbutton and a hold-in contact from the contactor across the normally open start button contact. A normally closed contact from a Stop pushbutton is wired in series. When using 3-wire control in Direct mode, a momentary pulse to Input 1 is required to start the motor provided the permissive input (Input 2) is powered. Power must be maintained on Input 2 as long is the motor is to be running. Momentarily breaking the Permissive input 2 will stop the motor. Refer to the C445 user manual, publication MN042003EN for additional information.
