VCP-W breaker families

  • VCP-WR - The "R" indicates a fixed breaker. Additional suffixes can be included either before or after the "R" to further indicate a sub-type. There is a separate IB, but the content is similar to the regular VCP-W IB.
    • If this is a fixed version of another sub-type, refer to the IB for the sub-type.
  • VCPW-ND - Narrow design. Only available as 5kV, 29kA, and K>1. Covered in the regular VCP-W IB.
  • VCP-WG - Generator breaker. Available as 5 or 15kV and has higher continuous current ratings available. 50 and 63kA rated generator breakers are covered in the regular VCP-W IB. The 75kA rated breaker has its own IB. Page 38 in tab 5 of the CAG has a description of when these should be applied.
  • VCPW-HD - 38kV breaker used only in OEM applications (not available in Eaton gear). Separate IB.
  • VCP-Wind - 38kV breaker used only in OEM applications (not available in Eaton gear). Separate IB. Similar to the VCPW-HD.
  • VCP-WC - Extra capability. K=1 only. Covered in the regular VCP-W IB. The "C" will be at the end of the breaker type (after the interrupting rating), instead of after the "W".
  • VCP-WXC - For use with high impedance/resistance ratios (X/R). Drawout, 15kV, 63, K=1 only. Covered in the regular VCP-W IB.
  • VCPW-SE - Special environment. Covered in the regular VCP-W IB.
