Can I run or test an S811+ on the bench?

An S811+ can be run on a test bench or in an enclosure without the motor being connected and/or mains voltage being applied. This description assumes that the unit parameterization is in an out-of-box condition (all parameter values are default). If some parameters have been changed, it is recommended that the unit be returned to the out-of-box state. A factory reset can be done to accomplish this.  No parameter changes are required except as noted below.

Condition: To run the S811+ with mains voltage applied but no load (motor) connected.

Action: Set mains voltage to proper value (480 3Ø Vac mains voltage – default).

Mains voltage within product range applied/no load connection, 24 Vdc control power applied

Action: Disable SCR Short Fault and Low I Trip Enable protection parameters.

Operating Condition: Unit will recognize the Run command. Unit will stage into bypass almost immediately. No Fault Trip events will occur during Run operation or after Run command is removed.

No mains voltage applied/no load connection, 24 Vdc control power applied

Condition: To run the S811+ with no mains applied and no load(motor) connected.

Action : Enable Alarm-No-Trip protection parameter.

Operating Condition: Unit will recognize the Run command. Unit will stage into bypass almost immediately. Unit will Fault Trip on Mains AC Voltage Loss, Fault relay changes state, Bypassed relay changes state, unit continues to run with Red status LED. When Run command is removed, bypass contactor(s) open, Fault relay changes state, Bypassed relay changes state, cooling fan(s) turn on, Fault Trip status is maintained and cannot be reset. Power cycle required to attain green status LED.
