Can we back feed a safety switch

We do not recommend back feeding safety switches. Back feeding may be in violation of the National Electrical Code (NEC) Article 240.40 .Regardless of the NEC code violation, we would not recommend back feeding because of the following reasons.

In a fusible device, the fuses and Blades would be "hot", regardless of operating handle position.
In a non-fusible device, the blades would be "hot", regardless of operating handle position.

However, the safety switch enclosures are designed with enough wiring bending space that you can pull the wires into the bottom of the enclosure and then loop to the top of the switch and then come off the bottom of the switch and loop around to feed out the top of the enclosure.  Externally the switch is back fed, but the switch itself is internally wired top to bottom.
