What is the function of the status LED indicating light on Digitrip 310 trip units?

The status LED is used to indicate how much load is on the breaker. The three possible indications for the status LED are listed below.

1)      Light is not illuminated: less than 20% of the breakers ampere rating is currently flowing through the trip unit.

2)      Light is flashing at a 1hz rate: between 20 and 80% of the breakers ampere rating is currently flowing through the trip unit. This is considered “normal” state.

3)      Light is illuminated and does not flash: over 80% of the breakers ampere rating is currently flowing through the trip unit.
