DC Wiring for XT Contactors

To use our XT contactors for DC applications, the contacts must be wired in series. For less than 60 Vdc, the current needs to be broken in two places, and for greater than 60 Vdc, the current needs to be broken in three places.

The figure below from the Moeller 2011 catalog shows the possible wiring diagrams for greater than and less than 60 Vdc. The row labeled "1 pole" indicates switching either the positive or negative DC lead, while "2 pole" indicates switching both DC leads.

For the DC ratings on the XT contactors, please see DC Ratings for XT Contactors.
