Can I wire my solid state overload relay for a single phase application?
Yes, you can use a solid state overload relay such as the C440 or XTOE relays on a single phase application. You should add in a jumper from the bottom middle pole (T2) up to the top right pole on the contactor (L3) so that all 3 phases of the starter see current. Also, be sure to turn off your phase loss/phase imbalance dip switch which is labeled on the device as ON - OFF PHASE. Ground fault must also be turn off if you have the version with Ground fault. Your incoming leads will come in to L1 and L2 and you will go out to your motor on the outer 2 poles - T1 and T3.
