What is the difference between the hot and cold overload curves used by the C440/XTOE overload?

Cold Curve Definition: Motor started after being off for 1 hour or longer.

Hot Curve Definition: Motor running continually for 1 hour or  longer at 100% of the FLA dial setting. 

Trip times will typically fall between the cold and hot curves depending on time, current and duty cycle.
