Can 9-3285 coils be used as replacements in Freedom Size 1 & 2 Series A starters and contactors?

No.  Due to a minor design change in the contactor base in 1993 when the series B product was released, the 9-3285 coils cannot be used in Freedom Series A1 Size 1 & 2 Contactors and Starters.  Eaton recommends replacing the complete starter or contactor with a current series B product.
