Install and test CH & BR Arc Fault / Ground Fault Circuit Breakers

The Eaton residential series of CH and BR Arc Fault (AF), Ground Fault (GF) and dual purpose (AF/GF) Breakers are installed like standard breakers with the exception of two additional steps.

BR and CH AF, GF and dual purpose (AF/GF) breakers follow the same procedures below:

Step 1) The white pigtail coming from the breaker must be connected to the load center neutral bar. NOTE - If you have the Plug On Neutral breakers, they will not have a pigtail wire.  The neutral is built onto the bus in the PON loadcenter)

Step 2) The load neutral is inserted into the lug under the white dot on the breaker (For a two-pole breaker without a load neutral, Step 2 is not required)

Testing Arc Fault / Ground Fault / Dual Purpose Breakers

The test procedure outlined within the instruction leaflet below is the only approved method of testing the arc fault and ground fault breakers.
