Selecting a Meter Pack

Meter Packs are meant to be used for group metering applications that require 6 sockets or less. They are considered "all in one" units, including a main terminal box as well as the a vertically ganged meter stack.  Additional sockets can not be added once installed. These do not provide a main disconnect. The tenant breakers are the only means of disconnect within the unit. For applications that require a main disconnect, or the option of adding sockets in the future, the better option is to use meter stacks with a main device.

Meter Stacks are meant to be used for group metering applications that require anywhere from 1 meter socket to multiple banks of sockets, are also dependent on the number of phases needed, and if the application is a commercial or residential application.

Information needed when selecting a meter pack:

  • Number of meters, amperage rating (per meter socket), ring or ringless style, copper or aluminum bus, horn bypass (offered as an option for ringless units).
  • Lug kits are not included for incoming feed. These have to be ordered seperately and can be found in the Vol. 1, Tab 4 - Metering Products toward the end of the section for meter packs.
  • All meter packs are designed for underground feed but can be used for overhead feed with the correct hub type. Most meter packs do not have knockouts on the top endwall, so a Myers type hub can be used for overhead feed. The only exception to this rule are the 2 socket 125 amp units (ex. 1MP2122R, 1MP2122RRL, etc.). These will use DS___H2 type hubs.
  • For any non standard requests, the flex center for metering can be contacted to determine price and availability. The flex center can be reached by calling 800-330-6479 option 2 or flexcenterlincoln@eaton.com

Accessories:

  • Accessories are available for these units and can be found in the Vol. 1, Tab 4 - Metering Products. The accessories are listed at the end of the group metering section and are the same for 1MP, 1MM and 3MM type units.

Renewal parts:

  • Renewal parts are available for these units and can be found in the catalog. Renewal parts for 1MP, 1MM and 3MM units are listed together in the same section. Most renewal parts are the same for these units, but some configurations might have different components for renewal. It is important to check any notes that are listed before providing a part number.
  • Internal components related to the buswork are not available for renewal. If anything within the buswork is damaged the only option is to replace the unit.
